Following last Saturday's UVM Women's Basketball event, our good friends Sue Minter and Deb Lamden from Partners in Adventure visited us again today to update us on PiA's plans for 2018.

For those unfamiliar with Partner's in Adventure, they have a mission of providing camps and year-round social and recreation programs that partner disabled teens and young-adults with non-disabled peers in northern Vermont.  They offer individuals opportunities to be included as participants in their communities, to enjoy enriching experiences adapted to their specific needs and to learn about tolerance and diversity.  The organization has been an 18 year success and continues to grow.  Click here to learn more.

Burlington Sunrise Rotary is proud "community partner".  We volunteer at multiple PiA events and make occasional donations.  You can donate to PiA -- click here for details.

PiA has many different activities for disabled teens, including summer and winter camps, Fitness Fridays, Socials, Workout Sundays and Saturday Nights out.  The summer camp lasts for nine weeks.  Activities include fire station visits, baseball games, ferry rides, zip lining, horse back riding and bowling; all at very low costs for the participants.  Teens find friends.  Social circles are built for both kids and parents.

The organization also raises funds via sales of their Adventures in Granola, available throughout Vermont.  (See picture below).

Please join Sue, Deb and fellow Rotary members at their April 13th Calcutta Auction at the Comfort Suites in South Burlington.  Click here for Calcutta details.  This is theri 11

Thank you, Sue and Deb, for leading this wonderful organization and for visiting us this morning!
